Welcome! I’m Rachel. I’m glad you’ve found me here.

For over three decades, in a range of different contexts, I’ve empowered others to find more freedom, joy and purpose in their self-expression.

I’m a UK-based, former university professor with a PhD in literature & writing, a certified coach, with an expertise in creativity. I’m also a published author (in both fiction and non-fiction) and scriptwriter.

Here on Substack, I write about the barriers and obstacles that limit creative expression and visibility—and how to transform them. Those obstacles might be, for example, being unable to finish creative projects (despite having the skills and experience), procrastinating on sharing work publicly or making the creative process more complicated than it needs to be. This leads to road blocks in getting projects over the finish line.

Once a week, you’ll receive an email related to aspects of expression and visibility that aims to help you reconnect with your creative power. My approach goes deeper than surface issues, focusing on identity and visibility blocks that get in the way of true authenticity. In addition, you might on occasion receive a post from a publication cross posted from

, to which I’m a regular contributor.

I also have a conversation series here on Substack called Stories of Creative Courage, in which I go live with a range of guests who talk about their relationship with their creativity, what gets in the way and the ways they’ve harnessed the courage to express themselves and be visible.

I’m so excited to share with you the resources I’ve developed, the wisdom I’ve accrued and the ways I can support you create life and work with more impact and from a place of greater integrity.
