Oh, the debris! The feelings about it!

Gosh, yes...SO much debris. And so many feelings. It's exhausting! What helps you find the courage/strength/motivation to open the door, I wonder?

Good question! Other doors closing?! Noticing what I want. Letting in positive feedback. Remembering the satisfaction in using my craft 😊

'Noticing what I want' .... SO important. It took me years to be able to attune to that - what I want vs what others want/what I 'should' be doing. Takes a lifetime, I reckon, to be comfortable with that one!

I really needed to read this. Thank you for sharing. Spend so much time feeling guilt for trying to write, instead of writing.

Honestly, I think we all need this from time to time! I totally know how that feels - the guilt and the shame that weigh us down. I'm curious when/if you've felt it before, what works to shift it? I find tiny, tiny actions helpful (opening the door to that messy room just a fraction - aka. 'just open the file'!). How about you?

I've been trying to implement a 10 minute rule. Just do it for 10 minutes- which often leads to more. Also, accountability and connection. Goal sharing.

I love your 10 minute rule. Time has been on my mind a lot lately (and will be the topic of an upcoming newsletter I think). In my experience, we often tell ourselves we don't have time but we have like a warped sense of what 'creative time' 'should' look like. Well, that's true for me, for sure. In the past I've let time slip through my fingers because I write off those tiny blocks of 10 minutes--when in fact, as you say, a lot can be done. And often leads to more. We just have to begin ... !
