Great piece! So often we put emphasis on the output (doing) forgetting that we are human beings - emphasis on being. Before diving into the never ending to-do list what if we took a moment, even if just a small portion of our day to allow ourselves something fun, something that brings us joy, or something that simply allows us to breathe. For me that is time spent with thoughtful content like this.
Thanks for your kind comments, Maghan. I totally agree about the epidemic of busyness. A lot of people here talk about how Substack, as opposed to other platforms, is so much easier on the nervous system, that it's more possible to breathe etc. -- and there is so much thoughtful content on here too. Taking a moment with other people's carefully crafted words (and I include yours in that) can feel like a meditation. What joy!
So cool to read this …because l literally wrote a piece for next week this morning on a very similar topic….how lack of discipline and consistency often stems from then disconnect from who you are becoming / your evolution - and staying stuck in old patterns. So, I loved reading this. Totally resonate, thanks Rachel!
I love the synchronicity and the parallels that show up in this space. I’m really engaged right now in this inquiry of the invisible/deeper ‘beingness’ and how we can attend to that, first and foremost, when we create. We need the systems and structures for sure. But I’m painfully aware how much, in the past, I thought they were the complete answer and that I must somehow be 'getting it wrong.’
